The countdown has begun for South Africa’s biggest and most prestigious modelling and fitness competition, The Next Opulent Model South Africa (The Next OMSA). The highly anticipated Grand Finale will take place on Thursday, 14 August 2025, at the iconic SunBet Arena, Pretoria, presented by Johan Ungerer Signature Events in proud collaboration with Time Square SunBet Arena.
The Next OMSA has become the pinnacle of modelling competitions in South Africa and is the exclusive South African partner of Top Model Worldwide London. The competition has launched the careers of countless models onto both national and international platforms.
With over 200 finalists preparing to take the runway, and a live audience of nearly 5,000 attendees, this year’s event promises to be the more spectacular. International creative director and producer Willie Venter, honored by the American Guild of Artists, returns to orchestrate the Grand Finale’s visual masterpiece. The evening will feature breathtaking performances, headline appearances, and a high-fashion showcase unlike any other.
This year’s theme, “Prism”, is a tribute to diversity, transformation, and individuality. Just as a prism refracts light into a spectrum of vibrant colours, The Next OMSA seeks to illuminate the unique beauty and strength of each contestant, championing authenticity, inclusivity, and the power of self-expression, regardless of background or experience.
The 2025 Grand Finale will feature a captivating live performance by Mirka, the internationally acclaimed Nashville-based artist, making her return after a 12-year hiatus with her eighth studio album, Phoenix. A powerful statement of rebirth and renewal, Phoenix marks a bold new chapter in her musical journey. Mirka’s powerful, emotional vocals and songwriting inspire hope, healing, and transformation.
The track, “My South Africa,” featuring on the new album, is a heartfelt love letter to her birth country. Mirka honors the spirit of the South African people – celebrating resilience, reconciliation, and the strength of the Rainbow Nation.
Mirka will be launching her new album Phoenix and perform, “My South Africa” live at the grand finale of The Next Opulent Model South Africa. Joining her on stage is The Serenade Choir, The Kingdom, Woodhill, and Bronberg Children’s Choirs, delivering what promises to be a powerful and emotional highlight of the evening. The official music video for ‘My South Africa’ will also be filmed during this live performance – a moment not to be missed.
Adding to the excitement of the Grand Finale, celebrated artists On-Que, Renaldo, Thandi Stoltz, Stephan Nel, Elmé Churr, Muller Brandt, and Wilmari Senekal will also light up the stage. Ewan Strydom returns as Master of Ceremonies, leading audiences through a night of fashion, music, and celebration.
